Our Christian Science Society here in Encinitas is based on Christ Jesus’ new commandment:

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:34

It is our specific purpose as a church family to embrace everyone in this healing love of the Christ.

We are a community of seekers – and finders – powered by the spiritual sense of the Bible as revealed in Christian Science, – the practical understanding and demonstration of the healing power embodied in Christ’s Christianity.

We meet twice on Sundays at 10am and 7pm and Wednesdays at 7:30pm. Our Sunday service is built around a Bible lesson that we study all week. Our Wednesday evening meeting involves a short reading, and an opportunity for those attending to share healings and inspiration that they gain from their spiritual study and growth. Every seeker for Truth is welcomed to attend.

And here are some thoughts on what Church means to us:

“CHURCH. The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle.

“The Church is that institution, which affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils, or error, and healing the sick.”

“All Christian churches have one bond of unity, one nucleus or point of convergence, one prayer , – the Lord’s Prayer. It is a matter of rejoicing that we unite in love, and in this sacred petition with every praying assembly on earth – ‘Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.’”

The purpose of this Church, founded by Eddy, was “To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost
element of healing.” (Church Manual 17:8)
